The story of waxed canvas dates back to the mid-1800s. Inspired by sailors who waterproofed their ponchos by rubbing linseed oil into scraps of ruined sails, a Scottish mill adapted this technique. They began using cotton impregnated with linseed oil, creating a durable and water-resistant fabric.
Post-World War II, waxed cotton became the material of choice for heavy-duty rainwear, favored by farmers, gamekeepers, and motorcyclists alike. Traditionally available in black or dark olive, this material has withstood the test of time.

Crafted from 10oz. 100% cotton Waxed Canvas by Big Duck® includes a right chest pocket with snap closure, a classic left chest pocket with a double-layer top pocket, a patch tool pocket, and two double-access side patch pockets.
Details: Corduroy-lined back of the neck and cuffs, historic knife-cut placket, and quilted lining for extra comfort.
